Sample reading using the Renaissance Tarot...
It's likely i'll keep using the dark background cloth when reading this deck as they don't really show up on the pearly coloured silk fabric. These are my oldest cards. I bought them in late 1991 at the University Book Store in chilly Dunedin, NZ. Good memories and great friendships. These cards have had lots and lots of use since then. They're a little scuffed and the gilding has rubbed off, but that adds to the charm I think. These are the cards I have the greatest affinity for, personally. One would have I guess, after 22 years. The spread here is my version of the Celtic Cross. Most Tarot reading books are slightly different. But it's not uncommon for me to change things slightly to suit myself. There's no problems with doing that btw. Just follow your own heart... as the Green Woman suggests to us.

The question for this reading was about love and travel. The Knight of Staves turned up immediately in the "significator" position. Knights are always travellers so I guess the question is, "Am I going or is someone else arriving?" Staves are intellect and logic. This will be a well-thought-out trip indeed. Enough of sitting. It's time to fly - notice Cupid's winged heels in the VII Pentacles. It's time to spin that wheel of Fortune's before you get too stuck and staid. There's plenty of time left to grow old and stuffy. Go out and LIVE. That's what we're given this life for... surely ??
